Joy "Babygirl" Carter 

and S.V. Henson, Jr.

Joy Lisa "Baby Girl" Carter is a gifted African American actress, proud to call Fort Washington, Maryland her hometown. Born 38 years ago, she is the daughter of Bishop Ernest Carter and Attorney Jocelyn Carter. Joy's journey into the world of acting began at the esteemed Howard University, where she passionately honed her skills in both film and television. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she furthered her education at NYU.

Joy Carter has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry with her extraordinary performances, showcasing a versatile range of talents that have enamored audiences and critics alike. Her unwavering dedication to her craft has garnered her recognition and respect, establishing her as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.

Beyond the glitz and glamour of the spotlight, Joy's personal life is a testament to her resilience and commitment. In a re-committed business and personal friendship, she shares a deep connection with her long-time friend, mentor, and former employer, S.V. Henson, Jr. Their journey began in 2018 when Joy served as his personal assistant, evolving into a profound connection that transcended professional boundaries.

Despite a hiatus in 2019 before the pandemic, fate brought them back together recently. Henson reached out to Joy during a challenging phase in his personal life, a 60 day fast and she willingly offered her assistance. Their renewed partnership stands as a testament to the enduring strength of their friendship, anchored by faith, an unconditional connection, and a shared journey in life and the arts. After collaborating on the script "DUPED", she rejoined Henson and Epic Films. Henson say's "They "Duped the Duper" and the trash took itself out, thinking she was doing the duping and gave them a awesome script and new 
beginning. .   

In a pivotal scene from the heartwrenching yet uplifting film "Duped," Elijah finds himself cast aside by the narcissistic demon witch, Alexandria.  God, in his infinite mercy, blesses Elijah with a chance encounter that leads him to Joy, a woman embodying the virtues of a Proverbs 31 wife.
